The Indiana State Fair Commission announced concerts for the 2012 Indiana State Fair will be held at Conseco Fieldhouse.
At a meeting Thursday morning, the commission said they have reached an agreement with Pacers Sports & Entertainment to hold 2012 headline act concerts at Conseco Fieldhouse and not at the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand.
Maroon 5 show at Conseco Fieldhouse,” said State Fair Executive Director Cindy Hoye. “Their cooperation and generosity can’t be overstated, and we’re thrilled to extend our partnership into 2012.”
The commission also announced there will no longer be a temporary stage on the fairgrounds. However, they will still hold events like horse and motorcycle races in the Grandstand during the 2012 State Fair.
The commission said they do not have any plans in the near future to build a permanent stage structure in the Grandstands, but that may change in the future. They stated there were possible future plans to renovate the Pepsi Coliseum.
At the meeting, the commission said 5 percent of the stage remains. Engineers began dismantling the stage last month and moving it to a warehouse on the east side of Indianapolis to begin thoroughly analyzing the wreckage.
Members of the commission also announced 50 percent of the Remembrance Fund has been distributed. November 14 is the last day to file a claim to receive money from the fund.
