Conservation officers are searching for a missing Purdue student near Lake Freeman in Carroll County.
Officials got a call late Sunday night that Purdue student Sean Alan Matti, 22, had not been seen since 5 p.m. Sunday, when he went swimming in the lake.
Officials tell FOX 59 that Matti, who is from Minnesota and on the Purdue football team, was at the lake for the weekend with friends.
"We got a call from his buddies saying they had been searching for him since five o'clock but couldn't find him. They called us and said we need some more resources," said Matt Tholen, a Department of Natural Resources Officer.
DNR officers and members of the Carroll County Sheriff's Department searched the lake late Sunday until darkness hampered their efforts. The search resumed Monday morning with diveres, a sonar search of the lake and ground searches.
An airplane is also being used to search the area.
