Two Police Officers from the town of Bunker Hill in Miami County are in the hospital after a crash on a rural road Friday night.

The Miami County Sheriff's Department told FOX 59 News that the officers were in the same car, traveling on County Road 650 South just before midnight.

Bunker Hill Marshal Shane Durham lost control on a curve and struck a tree.  The car caught fire and the officers were trapped.  Durham and Reserve Deputy Marshal Nathaniel Martin were finally rescued by other officers and rushed to Dukes Hospital in Peru.  They were later flown by a medical helicopter to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. 

The officers' conditions have not been released.  The cause of the crash in under investigation.
