The home of the Pacers and Fever is getting a pretty awesome upgrade!

Pacers Sports and Entertainment unveiled two major improvements to the arena Thursday. They include a new sound system, and a new 50-foot- high definition video board that will hang over center court.

The goal is to improve the experience for fans.

The next step for the organization is to work on a long-term deal that would keep the teams in the Circle City.

“We are as committed to having the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever in this building, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, in downtown Indianapolis for eternity,” said Jim Morris, President of Pacers Sports and Entertainment.

The new sound system is already in. The larger than life video board is set to be unveiled on Nov. 3.

Negotiations on the future of the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever are set to begin later this year.

The mayor's office did release a statement Thursday, saying they appreciate the work on the new additions but that it won't affect the city's decision.

The office released the following statement:

"These new amenities will greatly improve the fan experience at what is still considered one of the finest venues in the nation, but they will not be a factor during the negotiations to extend the long-term management contract for the Fieldhouse with Pacers Sports and Entertainment."
