Morgan County Prosecutor Steve Sonnega told Fox 59 News that he requested a special prosecutor look into criminal allegations lodged against a Morgan County Sheriff’s deputy.
Sonnega said he had, “a working relationship with a merit deputy.”
Brown is often sought out by prosecutors and judges to investigate public officials accused of wrongdoing.
A source told Fox 59 News that Indiana State Police investigators have seized the deputy’s department issued computer to search it for inappropriate e-mails exchanges between the deputy and a teenager.
The source says there is no evidence of physical contact.
On the advice of the county’s attorney, Sheriff Robert Downey told Fox 59 News he could not confirm whether the deputy has been placed on leave pending outcome of the internal and criminal investigations.
