An injury will keep one of the Colts' star players off the field against the New York Jets--and maybe even longer.
Linebacker Robert Mathis suffered a knee injury during Sunday's win against the Green Bay Packers.
Sources tell Fox59 that Mathis was evaluated this week and ruled out for the Jets game. It's possible he could miss additional time.
Mathis leads the Colts in sacks with five this season and is riding a seven-game sack streak. The 10-year veteran switched from defensive end to outside linebacker this season as part of the Colts' defensive switch to a "hybrid" 3-4 defense.
Mathis is the second starter to go down this week. The Colts announced Wednesday that running back Donald Brown had surgery for torn cartilage in his knee and would be out two to three weeks.
