A local doctor is back from a heartbreaking medical mission to Haiti. Dr. Chuck Dietzen and his team set up a clinic outside of Port-au-Prince to help people leaving the devastated capital city. While there, the team treated more than 1200 earthquake survivors.

Dr. Dietzen says they performed dozens of surgeries, and treated people for broken bones, deep cuts and serious infections. Not all of the wounds, he adds, were physical.

"We had one cute little boy that hung around the clinic quite a bit. Checked him over and he seemed to be fine, but in talking with him further we discovered that he didn't have a family anymore, " said Dr. Dietzen.

Dietzen has been on medical missions to roughly two dozen different countries. He told Fox59 News the suffering in Haiti was, by far, the worst he has ever seen.
