Indiana Pacers star Danny Granger and his teammates hosted dinner for 500 of the team’s part-time employees at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Sunday.

Granger held his "Team Behind the Team" dinner to thank Pacers employees for standing by them during the recent NBA lockout.

Ticket takers, wait staff, ushers and security personnel all lost the income from eight Pacers home games that were cancelled.

Granger said his dinner was to show the staff and the public it takes more than 12 players to field a winning team.

“They just see us in our uniforms. They just see us playing every night and see us on TV, but we have a lot of people supporting us from the EMT staffs, to the greeters, to those who sell tickets, to people we interact with that nobody really knows about,” said Granger.

Granger said the idea for the dinner came from his wife and just grew as he tweeted the plans to his followers on Twitter. When he realized there were so many part-time employees, he decided dinner on the practice floor at the fieldhouse was the only way to feed everybody.
