Governor Mitch Daniels joined the company of Tony Dungy, Peyton Manning and Larry Bird Tuesday.

He was given the 2011 Pathfinder Award by the Indiana Sports Corporation during a special ceremony.

Daniels was recognized for his efforts to improve the lives of Indiana children with programs like "Mitch’s Kids" and "The Young Hoosiers Conservation Corps."

The Indiana Sports Corporation said Daniels has done a brilliant job leading Indiana.

The governor said he's humbled by the praise.

"In this job you seem to get recognized for things you don't really think you deserve and I guess this is another of those," Daniels said.

The Indiana Sports Corporation was founded in 1979 to inspire children to get healthy.
