Eiteljorg Museum's popular Jingle Rails returns Saturday

Indianapolis

Opening this Saturday, the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art’s popular holiday tradition, Jingle Rails: The Great Western Adventure, presented by The Indiana Rail Road Company, will return. Added to the layout this year is the Indiana State Fair, including the coliseum, Normandy Barn, the Midway Arch and much more.

Guests to Jingle Rails will be transported into a locomotive wonderland, a network of trestles, bridges and tunnels with chugging trains and detailed replicas of national treasures.

Watch eight trains wind past the local icons of downtown Indianapolis, including the Eiteljorg Museum, Monument Circle, Union Station and Lucas Oil Stadium, where guests will hear veteran Colts radio announcer Bob Lamey call a game. The trains then head through the national parks of the American West, passing legendary sites, including grand railway lodges, Northwest Coast Native villages, and wonders both natural and human-made—Mt. Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite Falls, Old Faithful and more.

The unique part of Jingle Rails is that every canyon and mesa, every lodge and geyser—even the replica of Indianapolis’ own Soldiers and Sailors Monument are made of natural materials by Paul Busse and his company Applied Imagination. Busse’s inventive holiday creations are rare and only seen in cities like New York, Chicago, Washington, D.C.—and now Indianapolis.
