Downtown Indianapolis Inc. offers a variety of New Year's Eve options

If you haven't made New Year's Eve plans yet, there are still plenty of options to help you celebrate in Indianapolis

Indianapolis, Ind.

The clock is ticking and 2012 is quickly approaching. If you have not made New Year’s Eve plans yet, there are still plenty of options in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Downtown Inc. released a list of downtown events for Saturday that include a masquerade ball, dinner deals and live performances.

Families wanting to celebrate with young children can countdown to noon at the Children’s Museum on Saturday.

"Instead of the New Year, we say Happy Noon Year," said Jaclyn Falkenstein with the museum. "It's a really great way to spend time with family earlier in the day if you want your kids to be sleeping or if you're going out without the kids later in the day.”

It has been such a big hit, Falkenstein said the museum will do it twice more this year at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Adults wanting to let loose will be able to at several different downtown parties. The Hyatt Regency is throwing a Rock ‘n Roll ball which includes six musical acts. When the clock strikes 12, guests will look up to see 12,000 balloons drop. The whole experience is priced at $39 per person.

Folks who like tradition can keep it alive at the Rathskeller’s annual New Year’s Eve party. For $50, customers can watch two live bands, get free party favors and chow down on tradition German grub.

"We're gonna have some pretzels. We're gonna have some German wieners out there,” said general manager Ron Vaught.
