Colts fans getting excited following preseason

Indianapolis

The Colts are wrapping up their preseason Thursday night. Fans are getting excited as we get ready for the official start of the Andrew Luck era.

At the center of Colts country, it's easy to find fans bleeding blue. You’ll also see a lot of #12 jersey around Lucas Oil Stadium.

Frank Walter, who's been a season ticket holder for 25 years, plans to be at every game.

“Since the first day they came to Indy, [I’ve been a fan],” he says. “I mean, luck, you got to be lucky anyways."

Staff at the Lucas Oil Stadium Pro Shop says they've been restocking the #1 draft pick's jerseys non-stop. According to Dick’s Sporting Goods’ Jersey Report, Luck’s jersey is its #1 best-seller in the country. Peyton Manning’s Denver Broncos jersey ranks #2.

Ticket brokers are getting lucky too. They've been selling preseason tickets below face value, from 15 to 125 bucks, but they're also selling more than last year.

“It's a totally revamped team,” says Mike Peduto from Circle City Tickets. “I think that's the biggest issue, nobody has seen what Andrew Luck can do.”

Good luck getting tickets for the big game against the Green Bay Packers. There’s only obstructed view tickets left and Peduto expects ticket prices to double.

“We're sort of coming from an era where we had a lot of success on the field. Last year, everyone knows what happened,” says Larry Hall, VP of Ticket Operations and Guest Services for the Indianapolis Colts. “Now we're looking forward to use that as a springboard for future success.”

Hall says there’s about 1000 tickets left for the home-opener against the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 16.

“It has nothing to do with Minnesota, I think it's totally because people want to see Andrew Luck's first game,” says Peduto.

If Luck lives up to his name, Peduto expects ticket prices will go up by about 30 percent.

“Getting rid of Peyton, it hurt,” says Brandon Brake, a Colts fan. “But they look like a solid team so far -- much better year than last year.”
