MIDDLEBURY, Conn. (AP) - A 700-pound moose that was on the loose in Middlebury, Conn. has been moved to a new home.
The Department of Environmental Protection on Friday tranquilized the two-year-old male, spotted in several towns in recent days, after it began to approach I-84.
Officials say he will be relocated to a suitable location in the rural Barkhamsted area.
The moose is apparently the same animal seen last week in Winsted, Thomaston and Watertown. It may also be the same moose spotted in Waterbury on Tuesday.
DEP has been working with local officials to track the animal.
