MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut Humane Society officials say that a dog that escaped in Middletown just hours after being adopted, has been found nearly seven months later.
Society officials say they are amazed the hound managed to survive the frigid winter and evade capture many times.
Lady ran away from her owners just hours after they adopted her from the Connecticut Humane Society last November.
Middletown Animal Control Officer Gail Petras said Wednesday there were many sightings and there were times she thought Lady had died.
Petras says Lady managed to get by without frostbite or significant weight loss.
