FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — The family of a 9-year-old girl who was the victim of a grisly killing near Fort Wayne is moving her belongings out of the trailer where she lived.

Aliahna Lemmon's stepfather, Allen Souders, tells The News-Sentinel (http://bit.ly/t8ArVc) that his wife couldn't bear to look at her daughter's possessions after what happened so he was moving them to a storage facility. The stepfather loaded a pickup truck with large cardboard boxes Wednesday.

Authorities say Aliahna was killed by a trusted family friend she was staying with while her mother was sick. Thirty-nine-year-old Michael Plumadore faces a preliminary charge of murder. He is being held without bond and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday.

Police say Plumadore admitted to killing Aliahna by bludgeoning her with a brick and dismembering her body.
