An armed robber leads police on a chase through Lancaster and crashes into a church on Sunday afternoon. Police were called around 3:45 p.m. to the Verizon Wireless store located in the Stone Mill Plaza along the 1300 block of Columbia Avenue in Lancaster Township for a reported robbery.

A store clerk told police that a woman entered the store, pulled out a gun and demanded money, police said. After getting the cash the suspect was seen fleeing the parking lot in a silver Chevy Malibu headed toward Lancaster City.

Officers chased after the woman until she crashed into another car and slammed into the First Church of God at the intersection of North Charlotte and Chestnut Streets.

Police took the suspect into custody at the scene.

The people in the other car were taken to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment.

No word on their condition.

MANHEIM TOWNSHIP POLICE-- CALLED TO THE VERIZON WIRELESS STORE IN STONE MILL PLAZA AROUND 3-30 FOR A REPORT OF AN ARMED ROBBERY.

ACCORDING TO WITNESSES.. A WOMAN WAS SEEN LEAVING THE STORE IN A SILVER CHEVY MALIBU TRAVELING DOWN CHARLOTTE STREET.

POLICE CHASED THE WOMAN.. WHO EVENTUALLY CRASHED INTO THE FIRST CHURCH OF GOD ON CHESTNUT STREET.. HITTING ANOTHER CAR IN PROCESS.

NO WORD ON ANY INJURIES.. POLICE ARE STILL INVESTIGATING.
