San Francisco, California—One night after the Ravens are beaten soundly in San Diego, the Steelers struggle in San Francisco and fall to the 49ers 20-3. Ben Roethlisberger played hurt with a high ankle sprain but failed to get his team into the end zone and threw three interceptions. Credit the San Francisco defense who hounded Big Ben in the pocket, especially in the second half. The 49ers led 6-0 at halftime and put the game away with a pair of touchdowns after the break. Roethlisberger finished 25 of 44 for 330 yards.
The Steelers fall back into a tie with Baltimore on top of the AFC North at 10-4. However, the Ravens hold the tiebreaker advantage on Pittsburgh with two head to head victories in the regular season. The Ravens can win the division and secure at least the number two seed in the AFC playoffs with victories in their final two games at home versus Cleveland and then on the road at Cincinnati. The Steelers would need to beat St. Louis and Cleveland and hope the Ravens lose once to win the AFC North.
You can see the Steelers host the Rams this Saturday here on FOX43. Kickoff is 1pm on Christmas Eve.
