Sean "P. Diddy" Combs has been a major player in the music industry for years, and now the record label mogul is making moves in the world of TV.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Combs will launch a network called Revolt with Comcast and a veteran of MTV, Andy Schuon, in 2013. The idea is for the channel to be focused on music and news, with social media playing a role in content creation.

In a statement, Combs described Revolt as "the first channel created entirely from the ground up in this new era of social media."

By airing a combination of music videos, news, interviews and live performances, "We're building this platform for artists to reach an extraordinary number of people in a completely different way. Revolt will be live, like all great moments in television history," Combs said.

In addition to Revolt, Comcast has teamed up with Magic Johnson to launch a network this summer aimed toward African Americans called Aspire, and the cable provider is also working with filmmaker Robert Rodriguez to launch another network called El Rey.

Rodriguez's El Rey, to arrive by January 2014, will highlight English-language programming that features "Hispanic producers, celebrities and public figures," Entertainment Weekly reports.

Johnson's Aspire, meanwhile, will focus on positive programming and entertainment for the African American community.
