New York, NY—The first round of the NFL Draft is complete and our local NFL teams each come away with one player. The Philadelphia Eagles select Baylor offensive lineman Danny Watkins with the 23rd overall pick. Watkins is 26 years old. He is a firefighter that has played rugby and ice hockey in the past. The Baltimore Ravens ended up with the 27th choice. They took defensive back Jimmy Smith from Colorado. He is one of the top athletes in the 2011 class but there are some questions about his off the field character. The Pittsburgh Steelers had the 31st pick. They selected a player Penn State fans are familiar with, Ohio State defensive lineman Cameron Heyward. He is done torturing running backs and quarterbacks in the Big Ten and will now play in the AFC North.
