In the middle of winter, Metro Bank Park is fairly quiet, but on Saturday a few hundred people turned out for a pre-season job fair.
Already, the 2012 opening game is within reach said Jonathan Boles, an Account Executive for team sales, “It’s 54 days away.”
The Senators are hoping to fill at least a dozen part-time positions at the park before opening day.
“I expect them to be the first point of contact for customer service to point people in the right direction,” said Boles.
But added, the job does require one thing, a passion for baseball, “I come here every day to work and get to see this,” said Boles.
Adam Brightbill of Hummelstown is a huge Senator’s fan, “I love baseball it would seem to be a good part-time job.”
Others who have who have struck out trying to find even a part-time job during this tough job market hope to hit a home run at the park.
Nicole Shumaker, is keeping her fingers crossed her love of baseball will turn into a rewarding summer job, “I use to always come to these baseballs games as a kid – it would be cool to work here.”
