EAST HANOVER TOWNSHIP, DAUPHIN COUNTY—A 19 year old woman arrived at Pennsylvania State Police's Troop "H" barricades in Dauphin County at around 1:30 Monday affer and claimed that she had been kidnapped from Lackawanna County last evening. The woman said she and 40 year old Jeffrey John Price, of Scranton stopped at the Country Side Motel on Allentown Boulevard in East Hanover Townshipl. Once there, she said that she managed to escape from Price and fled in the car they were driving.
When State Troopers went to the motel to investigate the woman's allegations Price barricaded himself inside. He remained inside of the motel and would not come out. Information obtained led Troopers to believe he was armed. Troopers also determined that he had an active warrant for his arrest, for the crime of burglary from Lackawanna County. The State Police Emergency Response Team was called to the scene. Route 22 between Sand Beach Road and Meadown Lane was closed for about two hours as a precaution. After negotiations with Price, he surrendered peacefully at around 5:00 p.m.
Price was taken into custody for the active warrant only. The investigation continues into the kidnapping allegations. Neither the victim nor Price was injured. A semi-automatic pistol was recovered from inside of the motel room. Price is being held at Dauphin County Prison.
