DALLAS, TEXAS—Thursday was the last time for reporters to talk with the players. Once again some of the questions and the attention was aimed at Pittsburgh Defensive end Brett Keisel. You see "The Diesel" and his gigantic beard.
Brett Keisel: We do not like scissors .. enemies.
It's probably the most photographed and famous beard in recent Superbowl history.
Offensive tackle Willie Colon, "Sometimes itchy, and in need of constant grooming. This thing has been growing since June.
Tight End Matt Spaeth, Its an awesome beard. He put a lot of time into that thing.
Nose Tackle Chris Hoke, "That beard has kind of.. transforms him".
Colon muses, "fear the beard!"
But in the end.. and after the game.. the beard will go.
Still from Hoke, "Fear the beard!"
Keisel told me he's dreading shaving it, because it's become a part of him. However, he plans to use the event an t-shirt sale to benefit two Pittsburgh area charities that he supports.
