HARRISBURG—A Harrisburg man is facing attempted homicide charges after police say he fired a gun at a pair of female teenagers. It happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night along the 500 block of Emerald Street. Police say the two teens were walking in the area when they saw Jason Franklin, 21, assaulting a young woman. The teens, ages 18 and 17, tried to stop the assault and approached the pair.
Franklin quickly turned on the teens grabbing one of them and brutally punching her in the face several times, according to police reports. Investigators say that Franklin fired a gun at the pair as they struggled to get away. The girls were able to get help from a nearby family and call 911.
A short time later officers found Franklin hiding behind a home in the area and took him into custody.
One of the girls suffered cuts and bruises to her face and head.
