DERRY TOWNSHIP, DAUPHIN COUNTY—After battling the snow for days, it is time to think about Valentine's Day. We thought, what better way to celebrate the day then to combine sweets, eats, and jewels. It is a great way to get in good with your significant other. So we visited the Hershey Lodge and Hotel Hershey to see what they were cooking up for the heart holiday.
First stop on our tour was the Hershey Lodge. There, Executive Sous Chef Franklin Thompson showed us a few different ways to combine chocolate and your favorite meal. He seared up some cocoa scallops and rissoto with white chocolate. Both of these creations are featured during Hershey's Chocolate Covered February.
Next stop, the Hotel Hershey. There, jeweler Patricia Clancy showed us some rare chocolate diamonds. They are naturally produced and come from a mine in Australia. Along with the chocolate diamonds, the chocolate pearls and chocolate gold are a fan favorite.
Last stop, the bakery at the Hotel Hershey for a look at some speciality cupcakes that will always brighten your day. Twenty different kinds of cupcakes litter the shelves at any given time, many designated to certain days. And kids don't worry, the bakery offers a place where you can decorate your own cupcake with whatever your desire.
