A woman died after being stuck inside an elevator in a building located in the Oakwood Section of Staten Island during a power outage died, PIX News has learned.
The victim, identified Danielle Goldberg -- described to be her in 20's -- was found on the 6th floor of a building located at 265 Mill Road shortly before noon Friday. Emergeny officials believe she may have fainted.
A relative told PIX News Goldberg had a preexisting heart condition and had previously undergone four open heart surgeries. Goldberg apparently called her mother and complained of having a racing heart before she was found by emergency officials.
Golberg was later rushed to Staten Island University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Con Edison confirms nearly 1,800 people in there area were affected by the power outage, which began around 11:35 a.m.
