ARLINGTON, TX (PIX11)—A bizarre incident following a high school football playoff game at Cowboys Stadium was captured on video when a runaway electric cart drove the length of the field, toppling coaches and players like bowling pins.
The video was reportedly taken after Spring Dekaney won the Texas 5A Division II football title beating Cibolo Steele 34-14 in Arlington, TX, Saturday night.
"We have a disturbance down the field. Apparently one of the carts on the field got loose and I think there have been some folks injured in this. Oh my! That's like a runaway cart there. And it finally took someone to stop it," the announcer can be heard saying. "That's a scary thing."
The cart slammed without warning into the first crowd, sending people tumbling over and around it. The runaway vehicle smashed its way 90 yards, until someone was able to catch up the rogue EZ-GO, freeing the accelerator that appeared to be jammed to the floor with a goal-line pylon.
Luckily there were only minor injuries during the scary incident. According to reports, one man was taken to an area hospital with leg abrasions, and several others suffered bumps, bruises and minor cuts.
