EAST HILLS, N.Y. (WPIX)—A fatal pileup accident on Long Island left a motorcyclist dead Saturday.
Juan Uribe, 36, of Glen Cove was arrested Saturday and charged with vehicular manslaughter and DWI.
"Nassau police received a call for a car crash," said Detective Gary Ferrucci. "In fact, a patrol officer heard the crash and immediately responded. While he's responding to the scene he hears a second crash, and then ultimately a third crash."
Cops say Uribe struck a tree while traveling northbound on Glen Cove Road near Midwood Cross in East Hills. Officers say his 2009 Nissan SUV came to rest in the northbound lanes.
Moments later, A 2000 Ford sedan from the Stuart Taxi Company also traveling northbound struck the Nissan.
Then a third vehicle -- a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle traveling northbound -- also struck the Nissan.
The motorcycle rider -- Pietro Gaudesi, 19, of Glen Head -- was thrown off his bike, and was declared dead at the scene about 2:30 a.m.
The taxi driver and his female passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries and were treated at a local hospital.
