BRONX, N.Y. (WPIX)—Firefighters rescued five people, three of them children, from a burning building in the Bronx, Sunday.
Flames erupted around 3:40 a.m. in the kitchen of a second-floor apartment at 45 West Tremont Avenue in the Morris Heights section.
All three children have been hospitalized with minor burns and smoke inhalation.
A man and woman believed to be their parents have also been hospitalized at Jacobi Medical Center with more serious injuries.
Sources tell PIX News the couple was found unconscious, and were later revived resuscitated by rescue workers. The man remains in critical condition.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
