A Queens woman is facing charges, after police say she abandoned her baby boy in the cold early Saturday on a street in St. Albans.

According to police, Alexandra Cherenfant, 21, left the infant in a stroller on 111th Avenue near Liberty Avenue, sometime around 4:50 a.m. Neighbors heard the baby crying, and called police.

Emergency Medical Technicians rushed the 2-month-old to Queens General Hospital, where medical personnel called the city Administration For Child Services (ACS). Doctors say the baby is in stable condition and will be fine. ACS -- in all likelihood -- will place the baby with his grandmother for the time being.

Meanwhile, it didn't take police long to track down Cherenfant, who -- according to cops -- lives approximately two miles from where her baby was found. She's being charged with reckless endangerment and abandonment.
