CHICAGO—A Roseland Hospital employee was struck and killed while crossing the street in the Roseland neighborhood on Friday morning.
It happened just after 7 a.m. in front of the Roseland Hospital on 45 W. 111th St.
According to the hospital, 43-year old Kenneth Edward Collins worked in adolescent mental health. He was on his way to pick up his paycheck.
Collins’ mother tells WGN-TV that her son was a Ph.D., student at DePaul University and active in African American juvenile justice.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
