Paper? Plastic? How about biodegradable.

Chicagoans now have another choice in shopping bags.

A company called The Plastic Bag Solution has started handing out biodegradable bags to businesses and consumers around the city.

The bags are made from natural materials and don't contain any petroleum as plastic bags do.

Five Chicago aldermen have paid the company to pass out a total of 150,000 in their wards.

The city council is considering an ordinance that would ban plastic bags.

Shoppers would be enouraged to bring their own bags or pay five cents a piece for paper or eco-friendly bags.
