Covington Roads
Please be advised that the continued accumulation of snow on the roadways in Covington have made driving extremely hazardous. Many private schools in the area have closed. Snow loading tree limbs are causing limbs to hang down on the roadways also making driving in the city extremely hazardous. Power is down is some parts of the city and more is expected to go out.

Citizens are asked to stay home and off of the roadways.

State government offices will be closed today in the following parishes:  Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson, Lafourche, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, Washington


Our Lady of Holy Cross College Announcement

Because of weather conditions, Our Lady of Holy Cross College will close at 4:00 p.m. today, Thursday, December 11, 2008.  All examinations scheduled after 2:00 p.m. will be postponed until Monday, December 15, 2008 at the same time.  Questions are to be directed to the Office of Academic Affairs at 504.398.2211.  The College will reopen tomorrow, Friday, December 12, 2008 per the regular schedule.  Thank you.

LSU remains open for final exams on Thursday, Dec. 11.

Due to the accumulation of ice on the grounds of Southern University at New Orleans and out of concerns of safety, the University will officially close at 11 a.m. for the remainder of today.  Final exams occurring after 11 a.m. today will be rescheduled. 

Orleans Parish School Board cancels p.m. high school (also committee meeting scheduled this evening are cancelled)
