Have J-Lo & Kim inspired a nation to want better, sexier, curvier butts? Some plastic surgeons say the butt biz has exploded over the past few years, despite the sluggish economy. Two of the most popular procedures: Butt implants, and the Brazilian Butt Lift.
Butt implants use silicone implants similar to ones used in the breasts to lift and augment the buttocks, while the Brazilian Butt Lift utilizes the patient's own fat through liposuction from a place like the abdomen or outer thighs where they don't want it, and transfers it to the buttock area.
Implants and the Brazilian Butt Lift can each be done alone, but some patients opt for both. Doctor David Jansen says many of his patients do work out, but exercise has only been able to give them so much when it comes to size, shape, and lift.
Plastic surgeons say the butt craze is not just limited to women---they say they're seeing more and more men seeking better butts as well.
Men, they say, tend to opt for more firmer implants and they tend to want them placed higher up in the buttock region than women do.
So how much is butt augmentation going to set you back? Watch the video above to find out!
