Severe thunderstorms are expected Wednesday in central Maryland, bringing heavy rain and the possibility of damaging winds, tornadoes and hail, according to the National Weather Service.
Thunderstorms carrying heavy rain are expected to begin in the morning, with more thunderstorms packing a wallop of strong winds and hail again in the afternoon. An "isolated" tornado is possible, forecasters said.
The high is expected to be around 78 degrees, with patchy fog between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. Thursday morning. Thunderstorms could continue on Thursday, though forecasters said there was only about a 40 percent chance of that happening.
Friday is expected to be sunny and windy with a high around 75 degrees, with some showers possible in the afternoon. The weekend is also expected to be sunny and in the 70s, with a chance of showers on Saturday.
