Temperatures were not forecast to break above freezing on Thursday, but that's not expected to last for long as warmer weather finally returns over the weekend.
The National Weather Service called for a high of 32 degrees Thursday with a northeast wind around 10 miles per hour. The low Thursday night is expected to be about 26 degrees.
Some freezing drizzle is forecast for Friday morning, but then high temperatures will near the 40s. Over the weekend, high temperatures are expected to hit the 50s – normal for this time of year, but a respite from the bitter arctic cold that gripped Maryland earlier this month.
