Artscape often falls on some of the hottest days of the summer, but this year, cooler temperatures are in the forecast.
At the same time, rain and storms are likely to interrupt the festivities Saturday and Sunday.
Friday may be the free arts and music festival’s best day, weather-wise. The forecast calls for sunshine and highs in the mid-80s.
But a low-pressure disturbance is expected to form and move up the East Coast on Saturday and Saturday night, bringing about 50 percent chances of showers and storms. Highs Saturday are forecast around 80 degrees.
Sunday, showers are more likely, with highs in the mid-80s.
Artscape will go on rain or shine, but in the event of lightning, festival-goers may be urged to seek shelter.
