A winter storm watch is in effect for the Baltimore area from Sunday morning through Monday morning, with one to three inches of snow and more than quarter of an inch of ice possible.
Temperatures are expected to hover around freezing or slightly below, with snow and sleet accumulating in the morning hours Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
The precipitation is forecast to change over to freezing rain around midday, eventually changing to just a cold rain.
The weather service cautioned of slippery travel conditions as well as possible power outages.
The watch includes Baltimore City and its surrounding counties, Baltimore, Harford, Carroll, Howard and Anne Arundel, as well as points west and southwest.
The same storm was bringing ice and snow from Texas to Ohio on Friday and Saturday.
