Was the NFL tempting fate when it scheduled the Super Bowl for New Jersey in February? There's a 31 percent chance, according to AccuWeather.com.

The weather forecasting service has launched WillItSnow.com, a website devoted to the weather conditions in MetLife Stadium on Feb. 2.

Its current forecast, 46 days out, is a 31 percent chance of snowy weather -- specifically, a 36-degree high, 18-degree low, mostly cloudy skies and a chance for flurries.

The forecast uses models behind a 45-day forecast AccuWeather launched earlier this year, relying on historical trends and climate pattern forecasts. But some meteorologists have noted it has little, if any, value on top of long-term averages.

AccuWeather isn't predicting odds of whether the Ravens or any other team might be on the field, however. Sports website BleacherReport.com meanwhile pegs the Ravens' odds of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy at 33/1, about a 3 percent chance.
