Wednesday forecast: Sunny with highs in lower 50s

Another day of milder than usual weather is in the forecast in Baltimore on Wednesday, with highs forecast in the lower- to mid-50s.

Sunny skies and slight winds are expected, according to the National Weather Service. Lows are expected in the upper 30s.

A small craft advisory is in effect on the Chesapeake Bay.

The warm temperatures are not expected to last past Thursday, though. The weather service expects one more day with a high surpassing 50 degrees, with showers likely Thursday evening, then dropping into the mid- to lower 40s Friday and through the weekend.

Lows this weekend are expected to dip just below freezing, with a wind chill making it feel colder at times.

Normal highs this time of year are in the mid-40s with lows in the upper 20s.

Historic flooding and the coldest temperatures in decades made weather headlines in Baltimore in 2014. Rainfall records were set in April and August, and after a frigid winter, the summer was comfortable and fall cool. The year is expected to be the coolest and wettest here in years.
