High pressure is forecast to deliver sunny skies and less cold air Wednesday in the Baltimore area, according to the National Weather Service.
First, a dry cold front is expected to pass through the area by mid-morning bringing some northwest winds of 5-15 mph. Temperatures are expected to rise from around freezing in the morning to the lower 40s by the afternoon, but the breezes could bring a wind chill about 5-10 degrees colder.
Mostly sunny skies are expected by early afternoon, remaining mostly clear overnight.
Clouds are forecast to move back in Thursday as low pressure returns, bringing a chance of rain or a wintry mix overnight Thursday and into Friday afternoon. Highs Thursday are expected around 40 and on Friday in the mid-40s.
High pressure and sunny skies are expected to return Saturday.
