A sunny day with gusty winds and relatively mild temperatures is in the forecast for the Baltimore area Tuesday, as an area of high pressure dominates the region.

Highs are expected in the lower 50s in the afternoon after a start to the day around 40 degrees. West-northwesterly winds of 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph were expected through the afternoon.

Clouds are expected to start moving in late Tuesday, with overcast skies and rain, possibly turning to a wintry mix late, arriving by midday. Highs Wednesday are forecast in the mid-40s and lows in the upper 30s.

Sun and temperatures close to 50 return Thursday and Friday, with a chance of snow Saturday throughout the day.
