Tuesday forecast: Light rain possible with highs around 50

Rain showers are in the forecast for the Baltimore area with relatively mild temperatures expected Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

A frontal system is forecast to move across the area, bringing a wintry mix of precipitation in Western Maryland and rain to Central Maryland by midday. Highs are expected in the lower 50s.

Rainfall is expected to remain light, with less than a quarter of an inch of accumulation.

Overnight lows are expected in the upper 30s Tuesday into Wednesday, and then are not expected to rise much further. High pressure is expected to keep skies sunny but highs are forecast in the upper 30s Wednesday and Thursday.

A chance for precipitation, with a wintry mix and/or rain expected on Friday.
