Thursday forecast: 50s again, with some sunshine

High pressure is returning to the Baltimore region Thursday, bringing sunny skies and another mild day with highs in the lower 50s, according to the National Weather Service.

Lows are forecast in the lower 40s in the morning and again overnight Thursday into Friday.

Clouds are expected to move in later Thursday, bringing a chance for rain showers Friday. A few hundredths of an inch of rain are possible Friday evening. The system is currently bringing widespread rain to the southern Plains states but is expected to lose strength by the time it reaches the mid-Atlantic.

Saturday and Sunday are forecast to bring a significant warm-up, with temperatures in the 60s through Monday. Sunday is currently expected to be the warmest of the stretch, at 66 degrees downtown.
