Storms moving through Central Maryland could bring gusty winds

Storms were moving through Central Maryland mid-day Wednesday and could bring downpours and gusty winds, the National Weather Service cautioned.

The weather service cautioned of wind gusts up to 30-40 mph and heavy rain in Howard and Anne Arundel counties after noon. The storm was also producing occasional lightning.

As much as three-quarters of an inch of rain could fall, the weather service forecasts.

More storm chances are possible overnight.
