Partly cloudy, highs in mid-70s forecast before rain chance late Wednesday

Partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid-70s are forecast in the Baltimore area Wednesday ahead of gusty winds, rain and possible storms in the evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The morning was forecast to start off around 50 degrees, with slight southerly winds increasing into the afternoon. Winds could reach 10-15 mph in the early afternoon before increasing to 15-20 mph in the evening.

A coastal flood advisory was in effect until 10 p.m. for the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, with high tides of 1-1.5 feet above normal because of the onshore flow of wind.

About a 60 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms is expected in the evening, with less than a tenth of an inch of rainfall expected.

High pressure is forecast beyond that system, with clearing skies by early Thursday, bringing sunshine with lows around 50 degrees and highs in the mid-60s Thursday and Friday.

Some clouds are forecast to move in for the weekend, with highs in the upper 60s and tranquil weather.
