Rain showers were forecast to arrive overnight and continue into Wednesday morning, ushering in colder air that will keep temperatures in the 50s for the afternoon.
Overnight lows were forecast in the mid-40s in the suburbs and the lower 50s downtown.
A 60 percent chance of showers was expected through about midday. Beyond that, mostly to partly cloudy skies were expected.
For the rest of the week and into the weekend, lows are forecast in the mid- to upper-30s outside the city, bringing a chance for the first frost of the season early Saturday. Highs are forecast in the lower to mid 50s until climbing back close to 60 degrees by Sunday.
