Monday forecast: Rainy with highs in 50s

A frontal system is expected to bring rain showers to the Baltimore region Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service expects an 80 percent chance of showers during the day Monday, with a 60 percent chance in the evening.

Temperatures are expected to be falling during the day, with a high in the mid-50s likely to be reached in the morning. Temperatures are forecast to reach the mid- to upper-40s by the evening.

The cold front is expected to push out the foggy weather that lingered throughout the day Sunday, preventing a warm-up that had been expected. A dense fog advisory was in effect for all of Central Maryland through 9 a.m. Monday.

Precipitation chances continue Tuesday, with chances of rain and/or a wintry mix in the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures are expected to grow colder over the week, with highs in the 40s and lows in the 30s.
