A summery day is forecast for what is the first day of school across much of the state, with highs in the upper 80s and mostly sunny skies.
Partly cloudy skies are expected, with low humidity.
Clouds are expected to increase overnight, along with the humidity. Tuesday and Wednesday are forecast to bring rain and storm chances with highs closer to 90 degrees.
Wednesday brings the strongest chances for precipitation, with about 50 percent chances. Humidity is forecast to be highest that day, with heat index values into the lower 90s.
Thursday and into Labor Day weekend, sunny skies are forecast to return with highs in the upper 80s.
