Highs in upper 80s with evening storm chances forecast Monday

Heat and humidity were expected to return to the Baltimore area Monday, with highs in the upper 80s, high humidity and a chance for storms in the afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service.

Overnight lows were expected in the lower 70s.

After spending much of the weekend in the 50s, dew points were forecast to rise to the mid- to upper-60s, a level that is perceptible to most and uncomfortable for many.

A 40 percent chance of storms was forecast in the evening as a weak cold front moves through the area. The front was expected to stall over the region Tuesday, bringing more storm chances.

Highs Tuesday were forecast in the mid-80s, with high humidity expected again.

By Wednesday, cooler temperatures and lower humidity is expected for the rest of the work week, with highs in the lower 80s.
