Thursday's storms were expected to usher in cooler, drier weather Friday and into the weekend, with highs around 80 degrees to end the work week, according to the National Weather Service.
Clouds were expected to hang over the region Friday but begin to clear out for the weekend. A chance of showers was possible in the early morning hours, with dry weather beyond that.
Humidity was expected to plummet, with dew points in the 50s making it feel considerably drier than a typical summer day.
A 15-20 mph breeze was possible throughout the day.
Skies were forecast to begin clearing overnight, with abundant sunshine, calm winds and highs in the lower 80s on a picture-perfect Saturday. Weekend lows were forecast in the 60s.
Some clouds could move in Sunday, with a chance of showers in the evening. Highs are forecast in the mid-80s.
